CORE PROCESS PSYCHOTHERAPY

Core Process Psychotherapy is a psycho-spiritual approach to healing and self-discovery that brings together Western psychotherapeutic theory with Buddhist principles and practices in a deeply nourishing way.

Through this gentle, yet powerful approach, we engage in a process of joint inquiry, bringing our shared attention to the places that may be feeling wounded, overwhelmed or stuck, through the portal of present moment experience. As we turn towards our suffering, it is vital to contact and build connection with our inner resources. The process of resourcing holds a very special place within the Core Process approach.

The principle that awareness is curative guides our work together. By bringing our awareness to what is arising in our body, mind and feelings as we explore the nature of our suffering, we can discover more expansive ways of relating to these experiences that naturally connect us to healing insights, sensations and possibilities. The relationship between therapist and client provides a safe, attuned and compassionate container for this process to unfold.

One of the aspects of this approach that speaks to me most deeply is its grounding in the inherent health, goodness and wholeness (the “Core”) of every individual. Together, we orient towards this Core as we come into relationship with your emerging process. In this way, it places your own experiences, intuition and insights at the heart of the healing process.

“Healing is a wholeness as opposed to an outcome. We are talking about the possibility of more and more waking up in the present to how things are, how things are cognitively, how things are emotionally, how things are on a feeling or a tonal level.”
